Galleries and an archaeological site
Museo Maya de Cancún has galleries about Quintana Roo archaeology and Maya civilization, with a path to the San Miguelito archaeological site. The complex is at Boulevard Kukulcán kilometre 16 in the Hotel Zone.
Decide whether you want the galleries, the outdoor area or both, then check current admission and last-entry arrangements for the parts you want to see.
Opening hours and last entry
Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-18:00. Last admission to the galleries is 17:00; entry to San Miguelito closes earlier, at 16:30.
For a later visit that includes both, plan the archaeological area before the galleries. Check the INAH visitor page for changes affecting your day.
Make it the main outing
For a first full day, keep the visit as the main outing rather than combining it with an island trip. Check the visiting day and arrange the outward and return journey before leaving your base.
Keep food, water, rest and tomorrow’s commitment in the plan. Choose the pace around your interests rather than fitting the complex into an untested short stop.
Check the access you need
The museum has ramps and elevators serving the galleries. If step-free access matters, ask about current lift operation and the exact outdoor paths you want to use.
Check surfaces, seating, assistance and heat exposure where they affect the visit. Gallery access does not by itself settle access through the archaeological area.
Plan the journey back
Use the kilometre-16 address when comparing transport from your accommodation. Check the return as well as the outward leg, and include both in the day’s budget.
The INAH visitor page below is in Spanish and provides the museum’s current visitor information. Check opening and admission details there before setting out.
