Keep the base or change it
Keeping the same room saves another checkout and admission process. An overnight move makes sense when the next place serves the trip you want and you have confirmed where to sleep.
Compare the complete move with a day outing: transport both ways, luggage arrangements, cancellation terms and the next morning’s commitment.
Isla Mujeres starts with the departure port
Ultramar lists Puerto Juárez–Isla Mujeres separately from Playa Tortugas and Playa Caracol departures. Choose the sailing origin, then plan how to reach that terminal from your accommodation.
For a day trip, check the return as carefully as the outward journey. For an overnight move, confirm the island room and the trip from the island terminal to its door.
For Playa Caracol, include the dock fee payable at the terminal; it is excluded from the ferry fare.
Leave room to change the plan
Before an inflexible booking, decide what you would do if the journey no longer works. Keep accommodation cancellation terms and luggage needs beside the transport decision.
For an early flight next, use the airport-departure checklist instead. Tomorrow’s fixed commitment is a useful test of whether another move is worthwhile.
