Museo Maya and San Miguelito
The museum combines Maya collections with an outdoor archaeological area at Boulevard Kukulcán kilometre 16.5. Keep both parts in the visit. Tuesday–Sunday hours are 09:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:30.
Foreign-adult admission is MXN 210 and the national tariff is MXN 105 in November 2026. Children under 13 enter free under the visitor listing’s rules. Food, pets, smoking and flash are prohibited, so have the meal outside the museum visit.
Las Palapas and downtown
Parque de las Palapas has food stalls and cultural activity in a public square. It makes an easy first-evening destination after settling into a Centro hostel. Mercado 23 and Mercado 28 are also marked on the municipal orientation map; they are downtown stops rather than Hotel Zone excursions.
Isla Mujeres
Choose Playa Norte and the northern town for a beach-and-lunch day. Add a road journey to Punta Sur if the cliffs and temple remains interest you more than a long beach afternoon. The two versions need different amounts of island transport.
From Centro, compare Puerto Juárez first. Playa Tortugas and Playa Caracol are separate Hotel Zone ports. A ferry ticket does not include the ride to the mainland dock, island transport or a booked reef activity.
